Some people like to capture life through the lens, but I use scale. Proportions, volumes, structures - these are parameters to others, but to me, they are the way to hold the world in the palm of my hand.
I am Leo, a 3D model creator, and what I have been doing is telling stories through miniature models.

During my university days, I was deeply impressed by the miniature models in Blade Runner.
At that moment, I realized: a small space can encompass a vast world.
From then on, telling stories through miniatures became an obsession I couldn't let go. Each model carries more than just technical display; it embodies emotions and stories.
My latest work, Abandoned Aquatic Laboratory , was inspired by an experience from my childhood. When my parents took me to the Beijing Ocean Aquarium, I walked into a dark corridor alone. On one side were screens depicting great white sharks and deep-sea creatures, the water deep and dark. At that moment, I felt a profound fear, as if being watched by enormous beings, feeling like a drop of water in the ocean, unable to escape.
The indescribable fear of the unknown has haunted me ever since. I even felt that deep shadow brought such a heavy burden.
Abandoned Aquatic Laboratory
When I started to try and materialize the fears from my dreams, I gradually understood something: materializing fear doesn't eliminate it; it's about accepting it and understanding it. I began to recreate those vague creatures and the mysteries of the deep sea using models, which allowed me to confront my fears and made my creations more powerful.
The mutated Bobbit worm in Abandoned Aquatic Laboratory is my attempt to materialize those frightening creatures from my dreams. I made it exaggerated, so it looks like a massive predator, directly confronting that fear, but its existence is no longer so vague and ungraspable.
In fact, the process of materialization diminishes the fear. Just as a person might be trapped in their deepest shadow, ultimately choosing to face and overcome it, the source of that fear no longer becomes unbearable but instead brings a stronger sense of power.
Creating models gives me a unique way to confront fear and the unknown. In these miniature worlds, I not only see the materialization of the environment but also the passion for the unknown within myself.
At NEXUS, we not only create miniature worlds but also infuse them with emotional depth through every detail.
We are excited to have this opportunity to collaborate with CHITUBOX to present our work as high-quality physical models. We think that these models would reflect the true spirit of our designs when they reach your hands.
